It’s always great to get a recommendation for a new book to read. There are soooooo many new books out there, it’s hard to choose, and everyone has a different style and technique in crafting their book. I love a dramatic, impossible love story with a sprinkling of humor and only a couple of apex steamy love scenes. Shock me, please. It’s also important to me where the contemporary romance is staged.
If the book is about a B and B on the coast of Maine, or a widow that meets a contractor when she inherits her great aunt’s home in Georgia, that’s common and good, but the characters will have to dominate the book and ripple with personality, intrigue, charm, and surprise. I love the unsolvable situations people get themselves into–the wilder the better. And above all, books that are unpredictable are my go-to–if someone recommends a book that’s twisted, I’ll definitely read it!
